2018 in review


As we approach our 5th Christmas and 2018 draws to a close, Mark and I have taken a moment to look back over the last 12 months and thought we would share some of the many highlights we have experienced in the wonderful world of ampersand research!

&…insights that keep giving and giving

One of the core values of ampersand research is focused on being “results driven”. Our aim is for our clients to walk away from the final presentation inspired by the results, enthused by the debrief and invigorated and ready to take on the actions from the findings.

It would appear that our clients have been extremely enthused and inspired by our presentations this year!

We have been invited back on a number of occasions to share the research findings with wider audiences in the organisation. In addition, we were proud to see our work being presented at client conferences not once but twice over the last year!

&…worked with some lovely clients on some fascinating projects

From plaster to buses, from perfume to hedgehogs, from DIY to qualifications – we have seen it all this year! We have had the pleasure of working on small scale tactical pieces of research to bigger strategic pieces drawing in on both our qualitative and quantitative expertise.

Our clients this year have ranged from global players to small start-up companies to local charities. It has also been fantastic to see the number of clients we have been working with in the East Midlands growing as well as the number of repeat clients returning to ampersand research.

You may have seen in other blogs the importance we place on our how clients rate our work. We send out a short survey at the end of each project and ask clients to rate their experience of working with us on a scale of 1 to 10. This year we achieved an amazing average of 9.5 overall, which we are over the moon about!

&…We were brought to life on screen

This year we tried something completely different – an ampersand research animation! Yes, Mark and I were brought to life in the form of a short video which demonstrates who ampersand research are and what we are like to work with.

It was interesting being on the other side of the fence and choosing an agency to work with on a service we didn’t have that much prior knowledge of. As researchers who are always and in all ways researching, we picked up some top tips to help our clients and potential clients who are not familiar with research understand more about the processes and stages involved.

&…champions of market research in the East Midlands

ampersand research continues to promote and support market research in the East Midlands. We have mentored numerous students over the past 12 months as well as provide local business free advice and training to enable them to use market research internally or on a restricted budget. We were very proud to work with The Big House at a local networking event, providing a research surgery helping local companies with their research needs.

There are also some exciting development that we are working on with other research companies. We can’t share these just yet as they haven't been finalised / signed off, but if and when they are, you will be the first to know! But trust us when we say that 2019 is looking like a very exciting year for ampersand research

So, these have been our highlights of 2018. Although there have been a few challenges all in all it has been an awesome year!

To all of our clients, suppliers, partners, friends & family, thank you all so much for your continued support over the past year. We couldn’t have done it without you!
