Celebrating 8 years of ampersand research


Hip hip hooray!


Since 2014, the aim of ampersand research has been to provide considered research delivered with a fantastic customer experience, and this week we are delighted to be celebrating 8 wonderful years of doing just that!


As part of our annual review, we have reflected on the projects we have conducted over the past 12 months, and, in true research style, analysed the results and would like to share our personal highlights…



& From brief to debrief in 5 days

Our client, a ready meal manufacturer, needed customer insights and fast…like in an instant!

And we gladly accepted the challenge! This project was not for the faint-hearted and was a test of our planning skills, organisation prowess, project management, as well as our research expertise, and is our fastest turnaround project to date!




& Finding an extremely specific profile of student

This project was probably one of the most challenging in terms of recruitment we have encountered. Whilst we can’t share too many details, the research was with a very specific type of student planning on studying a very specific subject - think exceptionally strict quotas on age, subjects currently study / plan to study, attainment, demographics and postcode etc etc. Oh, and did we mention that we needed to free find them?! A tricky, difficult, and at times frustrating, task but with a team of awesome recruiters and a super-helpful client we managed to find and recruit our elusive participants and deliver the insights needed in developing a new study programme.



& Diving into the world of mobile card machines

From window cleaners to mobile hairdressers to street food vendors – these mobile payment machines are everywhere (especially since the pandemic where the use of cash has dramatically declined). And we had the pleasure of working with a major player not once, not twice, but three times over the last 12 months to understand their target audience and how they could stand out in an increasing crowded market. We were over the moon to hear that ampersand research and their European partner are now their go to research agency!



& Being part of the Market Research Executive Apprenticeship Trailblazer Group

Not a project as such, but an achievement we are very proud of, we assisted with the development of the Market Research Executive Apprenticeship that launched to attract new and diverse talent into the insight sector. More details can be found in our earlier blog here.
