In 2014 we created ampersand research with the simple aim of providing considered research delivered with a fantastic customer experience. This week marks our 6-year anniversary and we are over the moon to be celebrating (albeit it virtually!) this milestone.
As researchers it goes without saying that we have analysed the past 6 years and we are delighted to share some of our personal highlights.

Recognition of our efforts by the research industry
Over the past 6 years we have been nominated for a number of awards, but none have meant as much as those awarded by the professional body for market research and the internationally recognised hub of qualitative thinking. At the start of the ampersand research journey we were awarded Best New Agency by the Market Research Society (MRS) and last year were Highly Commended by the Association of Qualitative Research (AQR) for our Qualitative Excellence Award submission. We admit that we are still buzzing from both of these accolades!
Working with a broad range of companies on some fascinating projects
ampersand research works with a real mix of companies from large to small, local to international, charities to private sector, start-ups to FTSE 100 companies. But the one thing they all have in common is that our clients are all simply a lovely bunch of people! We are not sure if that is by luck or design but we are privileged to have them as clients and have thoroughly enjoying working with them on subjects ranging from university prospectuses to bikes to pizzas to plaster to solar panels to bus travel…the list keeps on growing!
Delivering on our promise of considered research with a fantastic customer experience
At the end of each project we send a short survey to collect client’s feedback on their experience of working with ampersand research. We are proud to report that since our first project have maintained a customer satisfaction score of…. drum roll please…. over 9.5 out of 10! This has resulted in lots of high fives and fist bumps at & HQ over the past 6 years!
Being ambassadors of the market research industry
There is no denying that we love research and our enthusiasm to promote the industry has led ampersand research to be involved in a number of activities. So when we are not conducting research for clients we have been:
employing undergraduate placement students
coaching junior research execs in both agency and client-side roles to progress their careers
providing local businesses with free research advice
representing the industry at business networking events
speaking at client events and workshops
mentoring undergraduate students who are keen to work in research
Our commitment to raising the profile of research is as strong today as it was on our first day and we continue to dedicate time to pursuing activities in this field.
Personal sense of achievement
We know the majority of businesses do not make it past year 1 let alone to year 6 so we know that we are fortunate to be celebrating this milestone. Although there have been some challenges over the years, we are grateful to be working in a sector that we both thoroughly enjoy and continue to be enthused about!
So, to all our clients, suppliers, partners, friends & family, a big thank you for being part of our success so far! We couldn't have done it without you!
At the moment we are limiting our celebrations to virtual ones only! But post social distancing / self-isolation / lockdown we will be celebrating our 6 year birthday in style 😊
